Melanie Benn
Called to the Bar in 2021
Melanie qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has focused on advocacy throughout her career, achieving her Higher Rights in 2006 and regularly conducting jury trials. After a long career representing clients in Criminal Law she moved into Family Law in 2019. She recently transferred to the Bar and joined the Family Team at Fenners and is looking forward to developing her practice in this area of work.

Melanie has represented parents and grandparents in a range of cases, with a particular emphasis on care cases to date.
She is now looking forward to developing a busy practice in Local Authority work and private work too.
Melanie is friendly and professional and works hard to achieve the best possible results for all her clients.
- Public Family Law: Melanie has experience in representing parents and other family members in public law children’s proceedings. Melanie has represented clients in proceedings involving serious injuries, allegations of sexual abuse, neglect, and international issues. Her experience of criminal law means that she brings extra expertise to those cases involving all aspects of the criminal justice system.
- Private Law Children: Melanie has represented clients in private law children cases involving child arrangements.
