Nick Mason‑Williams​
Called to the Bar in 2021

Nick joined chambers in March 2023 following the completion of pupillage and has developed a busy court practice in various areas of civil and family law.

Before joining chambers, Nick worked as a caseworker acting for tenants in housing disputes. He also volunteered as an advocate representing benefit claimants in appeals before the First-tier Tribunal.

Nick takes instructions across a broad range of civil and family practice areas, with a particular focus on family, probate and property. He appears regularly in courts across East Anglia, London and the Midlands. Nick is able to advise in writing and conference.

Nick accepts instructions both from solicitors and on a direct access basis.

In his spare time, Nick is an avid cook and musician, playing guitar, bass and mandolin. He is currently learning Spanish and Danish.

PRIVACY POLICY

Nick regularly acts in matrimonial finance, private children and protective injunction proceedings. He has represented clients at all stages of proceedings.

Nick has experience in financial remedies proceedings including conduct allegations and international property, in addition to cases with complex discrete legal issues. In child arrangement proceedings, he has experience in dealing with cases concerning allegations of parental alienation, domestic abuse and controlling behaviour.

Recently, Nick has acted in multiple cohabitation disputes where claims have been made under TLATA.

Nick represents claimants and defendants in personal injury cases and acted in small claims and fast track trials, particularly encompassing road traffic accidents.

Nick has significant experience in landlord and tenant disputes from his employment prior to pupillage and accepts instructions in possession proceedings, disrepair, regulatory housing actions, and injunctions.

He also is able to advise and settle pleadings in respect of residential and commercial property claims.

Nick has experience in TLATA proceedings, particularly in the context of cohabiting couples.

Nick has a growing probate practice and acts in an advisory capacity, as well as representing clients at court. He provides advice on a broad range of probate issues, including provision for dependants, the validity of wills, and the distribution of property under wills or rules of intestacy.
