Nick Mason‑Williams​

Nick joined chambers in March 2023 following the completion of pupillage.

Before joining chambers, Nick worked as a caseworker acting for tenants in housing disputes. He also previously volunteered as an advocate representing benefit claimants in appeals before the First-tier Tribunal.

Nick takes instructions across chambers’ practice areas, having gained experience in criminal, family, personal injury, and housing law through pupillage. In addition to representation at court, Nick is able to advise in writing and conference.

At present, Nick is only able to accept instructions from solicitors and professionals.

PRIVACY POLICY

Nick regularly acts in family proceedings, including matrimonial finance, public and private children proceedings, and applications for protective injunctions. He has represented clients at all stages of proceedings, including FDRs and final hearings.

Nick accepts instructions in criminal and quasi-criminal cases in both the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, acting for prosecution and defence across East Anglia. He is a Grade 1 Crown Court prosecutor.

His work includes:

  • Magistrates’ court trials
  • First appearances and sentencing hearings in the magistrates’ court
  • Committals for sentence
  • Appeals to the Crown Court against conviction/sentence
  • Civil applications within the magistrates’ court

Nick represents claimants and defendants in personal injury cases and acted in small claims and fast track trials, particularly encompassing road traffic accidents.

In addition to his experience prior to pupillage representing applicants for homelessness assistance and tenants in possession proceedings and disrepair cases, Nick regularly acts for claimants in possession actions. He accepts instructions in various areas of property law.
