Daniel Messenger
Called to the Bar in 2008

Daniel Messenger specialises in family law, and has done so throughout his career at the Bar.

He is regularly praised for his patient and sensitive approach, particularly when dealing with vulnerable clients, and has an excellent record at settling cases without resorting to a final hearing.

HIS WORK

Since establishing himself in practice, Daniel has developed a substantial care practice, representing parents, family members, children and Local Authorities.

On completing the Bar, Daniel was awarded the prestigious Fox Scholarship by Middle Temple. This led him to spend much of 2009 working at both the Ontario Court of Appeal and the litigation department of a large Toronto law firm.

  • Public Family Law: includes non-accidental injury, sexual abuse and neglect.
  • Private Family Law: includes disputes concerning child arrangements orders; cases concerning removal from the jurisdiction; and child abduction.
  • Financial Proceedings: all matters of divorce and financial family law (including TOLATA).

HER WORK

Within his care practice, Daniel represents all parties, including parents, family members, Local Authorities and children.

In respect of private family law matters, Daniel has previously been asked by the local judiciary to assist in the training of the local lay justices of the Family Court.
